Walk along the creek both upstream and downstream to maximize the potential for birds at this location. With its apparent water retention, even in the midst of a drought or the summer dry season, this park and its water can be a magnet for birds.
Cackling Goose has been reported year-round at the park. Summertime birds include Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Common Nighthawk, Chimney Swift and Mississippi Kite. Other summer birds include Purple Martin, Barn, and to a lesser degree, Cliff Swallows, Ash-throated and Scissor-tailed Flycatchers and Western Kingbird, Lark Sparrow, Bullock's Oriole and Painted Bunting.
This is a city park with a small creek area which appears to have water even in the dry times.
