Tips for Birding

Parking: most birders start at one of three points.

  • There is a public lot on Pond Street near the southeast corner of the pond.
  • There is on street parking along Sturgis Street.
  • There are parking lots behind the medical center on Rehabilitation Way and a park entrance from the back corner of that lot.

About this Location

Horn Pond is a 102-acre water body along the Aberjona River in Woburn. The pond is fed by several brooks and flows out via Horn Pond Brook to the Aberjona River and the Mystic Lakes, eventually reaching the Mystic River and the Atlantic Ocean. It was also traversed by the Middlesex Canal from 1802 to 1860.

Horn Pond Recreation Area is managed by the City of Woburn.
