About this Location

The James Turner Reservoir is accessible from multiple points. The easiest way to access the reservoir by land is from the Turner Reservoir Loop Trail which has a trailhead on Pleasant Street in Rumford, Rhode Island (Trailhead). To access the reservoir by boat, there is an unimproved access site on Newman Avenue.

The Ten Mile River Greenway is 3 miles long and connects to the Ten Mile Reservoir, Slater Park, Central Pond, and the James Turner Reservoir. It is one of the few bike paths in Rhode Island that was not built along a former rail corridor meaning the path follows the natural contour of the land.
