About this Location

Lake Rohunta North Basin is one of the three sections of Lake Rohunta, a 383-acre lake located in Athol and Orange. The lake was formed by a dam on The Branch of the Millers River and is crossed by MA-2 (US-202).. The north basin is the deepest part of the lake, with a maximum depth of 15 feet and an average depth of 4 feet. The water is clear and the bottom is mostly mud with some sand. The north basin is a popular spot for canoeing, fishing and birdwatching, especially for migratory waterfowl.
