About this Location

Comprised of 32 acres Pod Meadow provides a walk through Eastern White Pine on the South end of the property transitioning to mixed old-growth forest (Eastern White Pine, American Beech, White and Red Oak) throughout the rest of the property. The base of the property surrounding the 3 small ponds is a fairly easy 0.2-mile walk. However, the rest of the trail systems bring you to the bottom of the property and is a more strenuous walk consisting of 0.3 miles of trails. The trail distances vary depending on which side you access from but the walk is all downhill either way.

Parking and Trail Access:

  • There is one parking area off Old Connecticut Path marked by a new sign saying “Pod Meadow”.
  • Heading South on Old Connecticut Path parking is directly after 418 Old Connecticut Path.
  • Heading North on Old Connecticut Path parking is directly after 426 Old Connecticut Path.
  • Pod Meadow can also be reached by parking along Wallace Road then following the aqueduct .17 miles on the south side you will see an opening in a chain link fence and a blaze orange trail marker noted at the entrance that joins the rest of the trail system.
