About this Location

Longview Lake-Marina is one of seven hotspots that have been recognized on Longview Lake Park, managed by Jackson County Parks and Recreation. An overview of the lake and a map of the park can be found in the Longview Lake hotspot description. To get to the Longview Lake-Marina hotspot, go east 0.2 miles from the intersection of Raytown Road and Longview Road in Kansas City. Turn right for 0.2 miles to the Shelter 14 parking lot (N38o54'54" E94o28'29") or continue left to the marina parking area and boat ramp. 

Notable Trails

From the Shelter 14 parking lot, a short trail continues southeast to the lakeshore for an expansive view of Longview Lake and waterfowl viewing. Another paved sidewalk heads north to a view of the embayment where the boat ramp and marina are located. The Shelter 14 parking lot is the trailhead for the Longview Bike Trail, which heads west from the parking lot and then turns south to follow the west shore of the lake and the Little Blue River for 6.5 miles. It passes the Longview Lake-Shelters 12 & 13 hotspot.
