Official WebsiteCheck the river for water birds. There is also a small stream adjacent to the parking lot, and the larger Rattlesnake Creek feeds into the James River at the east end of this park. To the south, there is a wetland around the base of the bridge, on Riverside Drive.
Huguenot Flatwater, the westernmost section of the park system, includes a boat launch, trails along the river bank (similar to other sections downstream / east from here), a large parking lot, and convenient access to a small wetland.

The James River Park System includes parks, trails, and many eBird Hot Spots along the river through metropolitan Richmond City. Birding here provides year-round opportunities in a variety of habitats: river, wetlands, riparian woods, river islands, and more.
The trail along the river leads east to the next river bank section, the Pony Pasture.
