Important Bird Area.
in southern Wright Co. Just north of the Hamilton Co. border, take R-59/330th St. four miles west off I-35, to U.S. 69. The lake is 2.5 miles north on U.S. 69. The main access is 300th Street which leads to a parking area at the boat ramp. The woods around here are also a nice little migrant trap for spring passerines. Another entrance to the north on 290th Street leads to another boat ramp access and a pond which can produce some water-related species and shorebirds. Accesses on the west side of the area are more rugged but have some upland habitat.
