Butterfield Mountain is part of the Green Mountains and has an elevation of 3,180 feet. The mountain is named after John Butterfield, who was a pioneer and a stagecoach driver in the area. Butterfield Mountain offers scenic views of the surrounding valleys and hills.
Butterfield Mountain lies west of William Scott Memorial Highway (US-302). There is no marked trail to the peak. Hikers follow old logging roads and deer and moose trails to bushwhack to the top.
