Walk the trail and scan the river and sky for birds at the overlook.
Neotropical migrants and breeding warblers, vireos and tanagers. Expansive view could be good for observing migrant raptors.
This is an unmarked trail that is about 1.3 miles out and back. The trail ends on a large, rather flat rock overlooking the Big South Fork of the Cumberland River. The view is expansive and considered one of the most scenic in the area.
The Buzzard Rock Overlook Trail is located in the Daniel Boone National Forest just north of the boundary of The Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area.
