About this Location

One of the City of Concord’s newest trails, the West End Farm Trail, which officially opened in 2016, connects Carter Hill Orchard (a Five Rivers protected property) with New Hampshire Audubon’s Silk Farm Road property, with many fascinating natural and historic features along the way.

The West End Farm Trail can be hiked in either direction or in sections. The trail can be accessed at its end points, Carter Hill Orchard on Carter Hill Road, or the bike path on Silk Farm Road just beyond New Hampshire Audubon. It can also be accessed at several road crossings along its seven-mile length:

  • At the end of District #5 road (limited parking along the road)
  • Currier Road, 1.4 miles from the Concord end (no parking)
  • Dimond Hill Farm on Hopkinton Road (parking to the right of the barn, by the kiosk)
  • Stickney Hill Road/Exit 3 off of I-89 (parking by the end of the bike path)
  • At Carter Hill Orchard, park away from the store’s customer parking
  • At Silk Farm Road there is extra parking just past the bike path at the turnaround
