This small park may be worth a brief stop but does not otherwise qualify as a destination birding spot. Scan the river for waterfowl and other waterbirds and check the rivershore shrub thickets for passerines.
This location has received very little coverage by birders over the years and so is rather poorly known with just 30 species currently recorded. The Otonabee River can occasionally harbour some early-arriving or late-lingering waterfowl.
Goose Pond Park is a tiny municipal park sandwiched between busy Water Street and the Otonabee River. It has a long and interesting human history but has received little attention from birders over the years, perhaps due to its general accessibility. Street side parking is limited to Edinburgh Street on the west side of Water Street immediately opposite the park or one block to the south on Dublin Street. If parking on Edinburgh Street be very careful crossing busy Water Street.
