Colorado River Trail--32 Rd to 33 1/2 Rd

Birds of Interest

In spring and summer expect typical valley breeding species such as swallows, Western Kingbirds, Say's Phoebe, Black Phoebe, Yellow Warbler, Black-headed Grosbeak, and Bullock's Oriole among others.  In winter you may find small numbers of waterfowl using the river.  Great Horned Owls may be seen nesting in the cliff to the south of the river.

About this Location

This riverside trail is part of the Colorado River State Park trail system.  This paved trail may be accessed from the Corn Lake parking area where you will also find restrooms.  The trail follows alongside the Colorado River so riparian habitat is dominant while the north side of the trail passes active gravel pits but also small ponds and crop fields.  You can follow a short section of trail to the north to bird the Clifton Nature Park (separate hotspot) or proceed east over the footbridge to 331/2 Road where the trail ends.  There are several benches in the initial section of the trail where you can sit in the shade and rest.
