Migrating songbirds attracted to the rushing water of Silver Creek.
This 1.8 acre park is owned by the Silver Creek United Methodist Church which is located across the street. The park consists of many shade trees and is a favored wading spot for locals in the summer. There are several benches in the park. Silver Creek runs through the park. Open to the public during daylight hours except for being closed from 10am to 12pm on Sunday morning, 6pm to 8pm on Sunday night, and 7pm to 8pm on Wednesdays. The park is named after local baseball hero Willard Nixon, a former pitcher for the Boston Red Sox. He earned the moniker of “Yankee Killer” for his proficiency of winning versus the New York Yankees.
