The Pelots Natural Area trail network extends through varied ecological niches including fields, a sugar bush, mixed hardwoods, and a cedar stand. It borders secluded Pelots Bay, marshes, and a swamp. Pelots Natural Area was recognized as the premier Grand Isle County forest at the 2015 Conservation Summit-100 Years of Town Forests. The parking lot is a great place for viewing the night sky. There is an almost unlimited panoramic view with only minor light pollution. The moderate to easy trail has three loops totaling three miles and begins at the trailhead parking lot on Pelots Point Road.
