This is a hotspot for wintering Trumpeter Swans. The lake is visible only at great distance from CR 116. Swans are often feeding in corn stubble, so taking county roads around the lake may give closer views. CR 116 east from Hwy. 151 leads to 133 going north, then 128 going west back to Hwy. 151.
If there is corn stubble north/northeast of the lake, swans may be viewed from power substation on Hwy. 151.
Watch for eagles in tree lines on CR 133.
Trumpeter Swans, Bald Eagles (many imm.), Lapland Longspurs, Horned Larks, and a variety of waterfowl.
This is private land. Birding is from the roads, only. There are very narrow shoulders and sometimes much farm machinery/grain truck traffic.
