Patch Reservoir was created by a dam on the Tatnuck Brook in the late 1700s and has a history of industrial and recreational use. Today, it is part of the Patch Reservoir Environmental Field Station, a partnership project of the Greater Worcester Land Trust and Worcester State University. The site is used for research and education on water quality, aquatic ecology, and environmental science. Patch Reservoir also supports fishing and boating activities for the public.
