This hotspot is a rural roadway, with fast-moving traffic, and is surrounded by private property. Please park safely on the side of the road and watch for oncoming traffic.

Birds of Interest

There are two habitat types that make this an excellent location to look and listen for a variety of bird species:

  • West of the intersection are farm fields ideal for a variety of bird species, especially in spring when the fields are wet from rain and snow melt. Past highlights include Cattle Egret, Northern Harrier, Sandhill Crane, and Upland Sandpiper, among others.
  • East of the intersection is an area of woodland, shrubland, and wet edge habitat consisting of a ditch running north-south across 146th Avenue. This is likely an excellent location to find migrants passing through during spring. Past highlights include Acadian Flycatcher, Carolina Wren, Wilson's Warbler, and Indigo Bunting.
