Tips for Birding

Great spot to see migrating birds in the spring, including warblers, tanagers, orioles, and more.

Visit the drip and blind hidden in the forested area directly in front of the main parking lot for best warbler viewing.

About this Location

Mills Pond is a little hidden gem accessible from the north end of Wells Port Drive or off Bratton Lane through the Lakes at Wells Branch subdivision. The pond itself is set in the middle of a friendly neighborhood and has accessible trails for walking, running, and biking that lead through Wells Branch. The pond offers a fishing pier and floating boat dock. All non-motorized boats are welcome.

Take a stroll to Mills Pond for a breath of fresh air and relaxation or maybe wet a hook. All Texas Parks and Wildlife regulations apply for a community fishing pond. The park is also dog friendly but they must be on a leash at all times. There are always a variety of ducks, geese, and squirrels roaming around the pond.

A water drip is present in addition to the pond located across from the parking lot.
