The martins start "hurricaning" around the roost site just before sunset, which is a spectacular thing to experience. There are large groups of starlings flocking around the area, too. The roost site is presently to the west and southwest of the parking area. Bring your favorite chair.

Note that Martin roost sites are not annual locations, so it's possible/likely that the martins will change locations over time.

Purple Martin

This is a seasonal location at which to park and watch the gathering Purple Martins at the local roost site.  Dates will vary, but mid-July through mid-August is typical. Avoid parking at this location if there is an event happening onsite.
