Tips for Birding

This reservoir provides excellent waterbirding year-round. Viewpoints from Willow Lake Road on the south end are good for shallow-water species, and the grasslands there often have raptors in winter. The intersection of Willow Lake Rd and Prescott Lakes Pkwy is a good start. Willow Lake Park on the north end provides access to deeper water, along with some riparian habitat that has sparrows and other songbirds. Trail leads from Willow L. Road and Lakeside Village Rd to the reservoir, passing through riparian vegetation and desert scrub en route.
