Arriving from SR-14 to the west provides better access to viewing the creek and mudflats, as there are several more informal fishing access trails on this side of the impassable bridge. North of Cable Line Rd., extensive portions of the creekbed are exposed by mid-to-late summer as the water level in the reservoir decreases.
The bridge over Bixon Creek along Cable Line Rd. is impassable; access to the mudflats area is possible from either SR-14 to the west or Rock Spring Rd. to the east. From both directions, there are several pull-off locations for parking along Cable Line Rd. on either side of the bridge.
Informal trails for fishing access go north from Cable Line Rd. on the west and east sides of the creek.
