About this Location

The Upper Grand River Metropark sits on 135 acres and is located on Cork Cold Springs Road.

This property is under a conservation easement with Western Reserve Land Conservancy (WRLC).  It is subject to the requirements of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Scenic Rivers Program, which governs publicly funded properties and projects within 1,000 feet of the State Scenic River.

Funding was provided through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Paddling Enhancement Grant (PEG), and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Biennium Fund Program. This enabled public parking, enhanced the existing trails, and installation of the river access trail.

This former youth and religious camp has been transformed into a wildlife and river sanctuary at a bend in the Grand River between the Morgan Swamp Preserve and Harpersfield Covered Bridge Metropark. This conservation easement-protected park encompasses 0.75 miles of Grand River frontage, soaring forests, wetlands, unusual wildflowers, and wildlife habitat, a boat launch, and trails.
