About this Location

Birdsall Wildlife Area is a 242.9 hectare property that is managed for the protection and conservation of important ecological features and valuable wildlife habitat. The property includes a Provincially Significant Wetland and an Area of Natural and Scientific Interest (ANSI), this area provides habitat for a wide variety of species.

HOURS OF USE:

May to October | 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

November to April | 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

No access permitted outside posted times; this conservation area is open Year Round.

ACTIVITIES:

CAMPING

There is no overnight camping offered at Birdsall Wildlife Area.

HUNTING

Waterfowl hunting only, is permitted along the shoreline of Rice Lake. Archery hunting for white-tailed deer is allowed in areas of the property located within the Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan, only.

A valid permit is required.
