Davis Mountains State Park Official WebsiteThis building has a very productive wildlife viewing area, which can me see from both outside and inside. From inside there's actually a microphone outside connected to speakers by you sitting area. A good spot for great views of most of the species you can find in the park.
In winter there are Pine Siskins, Lesser Goldfinches, Yellow-rumped Warblers, both Audubon's and usually Myrtle. Various subspecies of Dark-eyed Juncos, White-crowned, Chipping and some years Clay-colored Sparrows. Also, White-breasted Nuthatch Northern Cardinals and Pyrrhuloxia, Phainopepla, Spotted Towhee, Many years Townsend's Solitaire, Hermit Thrushes and Red-breasted Nuthatch. The Interpretive Center has inside and outside viewing with seating. There are restrooms inside.

This site is open daily, and developed camping is available at the site. An entrance fees is required.
A total of 365 bird species are known to occur within Jeff Davis County and Davis Mountains State Park provides a convenient location to see many of them. The park offers 20 miles of hiking trails and features two particularly good Bird Viewing Blinds. The Primitive area of the park along Limpia Creek is especially good for birding.
