Tips for Birding

Wawa Preserve may be birded on foot with binoculars. The trail is a simple dirt and grass unpaved trail. A stream runs through the area. Meadow and woodland habitats may be found.

Birds of Interest

American woodcock may be found here peenting and displaying during their late winter migration. Belted kingfisher may be found here along the stream.

Notable Trails

The Wawa Preserve property has one main trail. The trail connects across Valley Road on the western side of Wawa Preserve to the trail network of the Darlington Tract hotspot. The trail connects on the east side of Wawa Preserve to both the property of the Rocky Run YMCA and the Rocky Run Trail.
