In the winter Hooded Mergansers appreciate the seclusion of this little pond. Red breasted, Yellow-bellied, and Red-naped Sapsuckers have been recorded here.

Online maps list this location as Lagunta Niranda which is an egregious typo. This little park is really Lagunita Mirada and there is a sign post with the correct name viewable from the street. Monterey Peninsula College is across the street and in a different hotspot.
