Ella McCarty, a resident of Indian Lake, put together a research book about the wildlife and history of Indian Lake for her Girl Scout Silver Award project, including a description of birds commonly seen.

Indian Lake is a large, 260-acre private lake. There is a 10hp limit on all boats operating on the lake. Some of the shoreline is built up but much of the shoreline is natural.
