About this Location

The Old Winslow Cemetery was established in 1651 as the first cemetery in the town and contains the graves of many prominent early settlers, including Governor Josiah Winslow and his wife Penelope Pelham Winslow. The cemetery covers about two acres and has more than 500 gravestones, some dating back to the 17th century. The cemetery is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is maintained by the Marshfield Historical Society.
