This is a nice, scenic hike on a well maintained trail. The trail is used by horses but vehicles are not allowed. It runs through willow thickets, open weedy areas, and along the edge of the river bluff forest, so a wide range of species can be seen.
Local breeders: Woodland species on one side, grassland/scrub species on the other. Highlights are Willow Flycatcher, Bell's Vireo, Blue Grosbeak, and Eastern Towhee. The trail can be excellent for migrant passerines.
The Lakeshore Trail runs from Lincoln Access all the way to Jester Park. There is parking at either end.
