Haskell Pond is part of the Dogtown Commons, a historic and natural area that was once home to a thriving community of settlers, farmers, and fishermen. The pond is named after Mark Haskell, one of the original residents of Dogtown, who built a house and a mill near the pond in the 17th century. Today, Haskell Pond is a popular destination for hikers, birdwatchers, and nature lovers.
Haskell Pond is permanently protected by the city of Gloucester. Forest Lane is on the east side of the pond adjacent to Yankee Division Highway (MA-128).
The AllTrails website has a description and map of a hike at Haskell Pond.
