The most bird activity generally occurs along the trail beside Green Creek adjacent to the golf course. Birding along/in vicinity of the powerline cut has also shown success.
This park is a good location to be on the lookout for New World Sparrows including White-throated, Song, Field, Swamp, & Fox Sparrows especially in winter months; American Tree Sparrows will occasionally be spotted along the powerline cut. Common Grackles typically gather in the thousands sometimes for weeks at a time in Autumn. Belted Kingfishers, Wood Ducks, Great Blue Heron have been seen along the creek. Red-winged Blackbirds are commonly heard toward the golf course
Clayton Park, the largest of the county's park and recreational facilities, sits on 165-acres of scenic woodlands and rolling greens in Concord & Bethel Townships.

Parking can occur in a large parking lot that occasionally fills up during baseball games. Otherwise, the park is open to the public from dawn to dusk and presents the opportunity for lovely walks.
