The Acton Trailhead is the northern end of the Assabet River Rail Trail. The Acton Trailhead has a small parking lot on Maple Street, near the intersection with Main Street.

The Assabet River Rail Trail (ARRT) offers hikers, bicyclists, and other users the opportunity to experience numerous natural resources common to the region. The 12.5-mile trail passes through Marlborough, Hudson, Stow, Maynard, and South Acton in eastern Massachusetts. It begins in Marlborough and finishes in Acton.
