Tips for Birding

If you carefully keep your bird records by state, be aware of the location of the state line and use the appropriate eBird hotspots when you submit checklists. The Vermont-New Hampshire state line is in the Connecticut River.

Just off NH-10 north of Hanover, Wilson’s Landing is a small area that attracts ducks in spring on a piece of water that is separated from the Connecticut River by a long peninsula.

About this Location

Wilson's Landing is a public boat launch and park located on the Connecticut River. It was established in 2022 by the Hanover Conservation Commission and the Trails Committee, with the support of the Fullington family, who donated the land. Wilson's Landing offers access to the river for fishing, boating, kayaking, and canoeing, as well as picnic tables, benches, and a trail network that connects to the nearby Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL), a US Army facility that researches cold environments.
