The pathway is easy to follow and birds can be found along the entire stretch, although some parts are have less vegetation and thus fewer birds. Parking can be found at the southern end of the trail, especially in the business lots on the south side of Country Club Road immediately west of the river. Note that the Country Club Road bridge is the state line, with everything south of the bridge being in New Mexico.
Dependent on water levels in the Rio Grande. If waters are receding, there is often habitat for ducks and shorebirds. When the river is dry, the vegetation along the edge of the river and adjacent neighborhoods can be good for songbirds.
Mistletoe-filled trees near the southern end of the trail often hold Phainopepla and (in the winter) bluebirds of multiple species.
A paved walking path that follows the levee along the Rio Grande. The southern terminus is at Country Club Road, but the path extends about ten miles, ending in the town of Vinton. The best habitat is along the 4-5 miles between Country Club Road and the down of Canutillo. The trail is frequented by runners, walkers, and bicyclists.
