About this Location

The oldest of three large lakes in Jackson County which provides to the public a large selection of habitats for birding with free access. Birding during migration and seasonal periods is better than average considering it is not on a major migration route. Trails cross the area and are being improved every year. Unique pine grove’s around the lake attract species which cannot be found elsewhere in Jackson County. It continues to be a favorite of many birders due to limitations which make it quieter and less polluted than other lakes in the area.
