About this Location

The Au Gres Delta Nature Preserve is located in the City of Au Gres, Michigan. It is 97.5% composed of National Wetlands Inventory designated wetlands bordering on the west shore of the Saginaw Bay of Lake Huron and adjacent to the Au Gres River. The Au Gres Delta Nature Preserve is unimproved and is currently undergoing a large-scale Lakeplain Prairie restoration. The Preserve is a sanctuary for nature and is being carefully monitored as invasive species are removed and native species are restored. Please be respectful of the sensitive species and delicate botanical natural balance we are working to restore by leaving no trace of your visit.

The Preserve is located in a seasonal floodplain. Depending on conditions and the time of year, the ground may be dry and suitable for hiking and wet and impassable. Venture in at your discretion.

The property can be accessed by turning south off US-23 onto Santiago Road, just west of Au Gres. Turn left onto Manor Road and park at the end where Manor Road meets Green Drive.
