There is a $5 entrance fee to the main part of the park, however it is not necessary to pay an entrance fee to access the Public Boat Ramp. The boat ramp provides very good views of the deeper water of the lake, which has the best chance for interesting waterfowl.
The road to the boat ramp has intermittent forest and more open shrubby habitat, which can be birded easily by car or on foot by parking at the public boat ramp.
Overall, it is typically not worth it to pay the entrance fee if birding this location as the better locations can be accessed for free.
Waterfowl, gulls and other typical lake birds, especially in the winter. Limited shorebird habitat along the shoreline.
Woodland and woodland edge habitat, plus some shrubby areas provide habitat for sparrows, buntings, etc..
