The US Forest Service maintains an observation point at Emory Pass on the north side of  NM-152, between mile markers 31 and 32.  There is a picnic table, but no restroom.  The elevation is 8168 feet. 

The observation site also serves as a parking area for access to the Black Range Crest Trail #79 and Scenic Trail #796.
