Trail can be uneven with some roots and rocks, and a few muddy sections at times (particularly near the small boardwalk shown in the photos). Note that the street view photo shows the gate and the dirt road, which is not the trail. The trail runs along the creekside, the entrance of which has a small sign.
A Shelby County Parks walking trail, along the North and West bank of Clear Creek, at the East end of Lake Shelby. Trail goes East on North Bank of Lake Shelby and Clear Creek, loops North and West along Clear Creek, returning South to starting point. Total distance approx. 3 miles. Passes a Wetland area, several picnic shelters and primitive campsites.

Lake Shelby was built in 1949, and is located within the city limits of Shelbyville, Kentucky. It is owned by the City of Shelbyville and operated by Shelbyville/Shelby Co. Parks and Recreation and Kentucky Dept of Fish and Wildlife. The original lake was never dug out. When the dam was built, trees were cut along a low lying field area which was then flooded to form Lake Shelby. In 1970 the Shelbyville – Shelby County Park and Recreation Board was formed, and the city turned Lake Shelby over to the parks department to operate.
The park offers canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and birding, bald eagles are frequently spotted.
