2011 Ashburnham Dr, Peterborough, Ontario
Beavermead Campground (Otonabee Region Conservation Authority) websiteThis is a large park, popular with birders and non-birders. There is a campground with about 100 camp sites that is popular in summer, a swimming beach, playground and sportsfields. The wooded areas of the park are good for songbirds in migration and the beach offers an excellent vantage onto Little Lake for waterbirds in early spring and late fall.
Most birding is done on foot walking the campground road or along the accessible trail that follows the lake shore north towards Lock 20, Rogers Cove and eventually the pedestrian bridge over Millenium Park
