Hemlock Road, which leads up to Ponaganset Falls, has never been officially abandoned, according to Scituate Town Council meeting minutes. The council hopes to go through the process to officially abandon the road soon. The Town replaced a gate on Hemlock Road in February 2021 that prevents cars from traveling down the road into Foster over a condemned bridge. 

Hemlock Bridge needs significant repairs, according to Foster Highway Director Gordon Roger, who hopes to get support from the state to fix bridges.
