East Longmeadow, Massachusetts 01028
Official WebsitePine Quarry Conservation Area in East Longmeadow preserves the history of the town's stone quarrying and cutting industry. The area was once home to more than 100 quarries that produced sandstone and brownstone for buildings such as Boston's Trinity Church and East Longmeadow's Town Hall. The Pine Quarry was one of the largest and most productive quarries in town, operated by the Norcross Brothers company. The quarry was abandoned in the mid-1900s and later capped as a landfill. Today, visitors can explore the trails and see the remnants of the quarrying operations, such as stone walls, foundations, and machinery. The park also offers views of the surrounding landscape and wildlife.
