About this Location

Lake Singletary is a 346-acre great pond located on the Millbury-Sutton line about 2 miles southwest of Millbury Center. The average depth of Lake Singletary is 18 feet with a maximum depth of 37 feet; water clarity extends to 10 feet on average. The bottom is generally rocky with small areas of submerged aquatic vegetation and scattered boulder and rock piles. Emergent aquatic vegetation is sparse, except for coves at the northern and southern edges of the lake. The shore is extensively developed with both year-round and summer residences. The proximity of this lake to Worcester and surrounding Central Massachusetts towns, along with good boat access, make it a very popular recreation destination. Lake Singletary is typically drawn down during fall and winter so use caution when navigating during these times as depth varies seasonally.

The Department of Conservation and Recreation manages a concrete boat ramp and adjacent parking, with spaces for about 20 vehicles off of Singletary Road on the lake’s northern shore.
