This hotspot is popular for hunters. Be aware of when the different hunting seasons are and wear blaze orange. There is a small amount of space to pull off for parking right next to the trailhead, but there is also additional parking just south of the trailhead on the west side of the road. View Map
This hotspot is stocked for ring-necked pheasents.
Taconic Trail State Park is located on Mohawk Trail (MA-2). This hotspot is unique in that it has both early successional forests, pollinator gardens, and with a short hike you can be within a mature forest. The diversity of habitats makes it good for birding and wildlife viewing in any season.
The AllTrails website has descriptions and maps of hikes at Taconic Trail State Park.
