Check out the pond that is about 100 yards west of the parking area for Wood Ducks, Yellow-crowned Night-Heron or other ducks.
The eBird geo-coordinates will take you to the dead end of W. Quail Run Rd. This is 2/10 of a mile beyond the entrance to the preserve.
The preserve is on the south side of the road. That is the left side as you are driving toward the dead-end.
There are houses on the right that back up to W. Quail Run Road. The Preserve may actually extend nearly to the dead-end.
To the right of the parking lot is a native grass restoration area that may have potential in the future for some grassland birds.
Following the trail that leads past the restoration area takes one to a small pond.
For the most part the Preserve is heavily wooded with numerous trails. Some times the trails may have an inch or so of standing water.
From AllTrails.com: This beautiful area borders Squabble Creek and hosts a variety of plants and wildlife in the park. There is a unique species of tree that is endangered and protected here- the "Toothache Tree". There is a scenic pond to take a break and relax while enjoying the scenery. Birdwatching is also popular in this area as it is a hotspot for migrating birds in the winter time.
