About this Location

Pup explorers living in Providence know the best adventure is at the Waterman Street Dog Park! This hidden gem in the East Side of the city near the Seekonk River could easily be missed as a patch of forest where Waterman Street meets Henderson Bridge, but local pooches know it as an oasis for off-leash fun!

This fully fenced-in dog park offers 2.5-acres for dogs to get their romp on. It can be a bit overwhelming at first, but a smaller section for tiny or timid puppers can be a good start. Mulching in the front section near the gates also gives dogs an easy introduction to this huge space. Once your dog is used to this outdoor arena, take one of the wooded paths that weave through the park to the dirt clearing where dogs can socialize or choose the next trail to sniff.

There's so much here to engage your dog's senses! With lots of shady trees, fallen trunks, bushes, and pathways, your dog won't run out of things to see. You can take a seat on a tree trunk to watch the action, or follow along on a hike after your excited canine. Water is available through a hose for thirsty dogs, but you may want to bring a bowl for convenience. If coming in the winter months, bring your own water bottles as well. Clean-up bags are also on-site, so always be sure to pick up after your pup.
