During the winter this is a good spot to see Whooping Cranes. You will also often see Sandhill Cranes and Cattle Egrets along with numerous other birds. 

4th Street goes west from Lamar Beach Road for 0.6 miles to Palmetto Street.

This location is private property and the pasture is used for cows but you can park along the road and bird. I've had good luck seeing Whooping Cranes here from about 100 yards.
