The Saugus River Marshes are a complex of salt marshes and tidal flats located along the Saugus River in Saugus. They are adjacent to the Rumney Marshes Reservation, a state park managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. The marshes provide habitats for migratory birds, fish, shellfish, and plants. They also serve as a natural buffer against storm surges and flooding and help to improve water quality by filtering pollutants and sediments.
There are views of the Saugus River Marshes from Johnson Street.
