About this Location

The Holden Town Forest is located in the eastern portion of the town, on the south side of the Quinapoxet River, along Harris Street. It consists of three parcels of land acquired by the town between the years 1933 and 1971.

The Town of Holden has maintained these lands since acquiring them and has installed a gate at the entrance with a sign identifying it as the Holden Town Forest. There is a relatively good access road leading into the property to the height of the land where a network of trails disperse through the forest.

Notable Trails

There is a trailhead for the Mass Central Rail Trail on River Road. The AllTrails website has a description and map of a hike on the rail trail.
